How do I check my credit score in the UAE?

Download the AECB (Al Etihad Credit Bureau) app or visit aecb.gov.ae, verify with your Emirates ID, and buy your credit score — it costs about AED 10. The score runs from 300 to 900; roughly 700+ is considered strong by UAE banks. A full credit report costs more and lists every facility.

What moves your score

Payment history is king: missed or late payments on cards, loans and even telecom bills drag it down. High credit-card utilisation, many recent applications, and bounced cheques hurt; long, clean payment history and low utilisation help. Banks price your loan — or refuse it — partly on this number, so check it before applying, not after a rejection.

Common questions

What is a good credit score in the UAE?

AECB scores run 300–900. Roughly 700 and above is seen as low-risk and gets the best approvals; below ~540 many banks will hesitate or price the risk in. Each bank sets its own cut-offs.

Does checking my own score lower it?

No — checking your own AECB score is a 'soft' inquiry and doesn't affect it. Multiple loan applications in a short window, however, can.
